SAIF works hard to ensure the ongoing future of the independent funeral director. In a world where the funeral sector is being subjected to considerable consolidation many of the long established, family owned firms of funeral directors are under threat.

Many of our members are the oldest businesses in their communities and we hope that many members of the public will agree with us that the big conglomerate funeral companies should not be allowed to ‘bully’ the independent out of business.

If you are interested in the work that funeral directors undertake and also share our organisational beliefs we would like to invite you to register your name as a ‘SAIF supporter’ on this page of our website. We will aim to keep all registered supporters advised of any events that we organise with the public in mind and will also send you an electronic version of our innovative magazine ‘Still Life’ aimed at informing interested members of the public about bereavement and funeral matters.
